Di 10.02.04 21:33 Testpatch E6
|
|

Here's an update. For full info please read the text after the download link. If you already know about E4 / E5 patches, here's a quick summary : E6 has better grouping and display of the important hardware options on the Options... Graphics screen. You also get manual control over hardware style mesh usage - this will help some people's frame rates who aren't able to use HVS. And Haze effect is included (off by default in this test patch). All the new options are saved in a special cfg file "card_cfg.txt". The new keyboard steering methods have been updated as well, to be discussed in a separate thread.
Download :

Graphics Info
This patch can improve frame rate significantly if you have a high end
graphics card. This is achieved by making use of Hardware Vertex
Shading. In old versions, this could be attempted by turning on "HTL"
but the performance was poor because of a flaw or bug. The new version
is known as "HVS" and can be turned on or off in Options...Graphics but
to see the effect you will need to restart LFS. HVS is switched on by
default when you run this patch, if your card supports it.
Z buffer depth is now selectable in Options...Graphics as well, also
needing LFS to be restarted.
A new graphical feature is included in patch B6 - Haze effect. This
will draw a light fog which improves the graphics and depth perception.
It's possible that it may not work well on some cards.
NOTE : when HVS is used, "simple car" and "simple track" will cause a
reduction in frame rate because they do not take advantage of HVS.
So these options are not recommended and will be switched off when you
run the patch for the first time.
These options are saved in a special cfg file, "card_cfg.txt"
Keyboard Steering Test
Special discussion thread :
http://forum.racesimcentral.com/sho...931#post1546931
In addition, four new keyboard steering methods have been introduced.
The old version will soon be removed. It's still available in this
patch for testing, and is known as "double limited - fully stabilised".
The five keyboard steering systems in this test patch are :
"no help" - keyboard steering translates directly to physical steering.
the user can steer too far, forcing the car to understeer.
"not limited - semi stabilised" - the user can steer fully left or right
with no limits. Some skid correction is provided, but the user must
take some action to correct a skid.
"limited - not stabilised" - the total amount of steer available
INTO the corner is limited to the maximum slip angle, taking into
account the front wheels' direction of motion. Steering in the
direction OUT of the corner is limited to the maximum slip angle but
disregarding the direction of motion. No skid correction is provided.
"limited - semi stabilised" - as above but some skid correction is
provided. The user must take some action to correct a skid.
"double limited - fully stabilised" - this is the old controversial
keyboard steering. The steering limits into AND out of the corner both
take into account the direction of motion of the front wheels. The
neutral position is between these two limits, and provides perfect skid
control. The user does not need to take any action to correct a skid.

So, genug OT.

Nebel >> Scheinwerfer
Wenn ich da so dran denke
