Zitat: |
it's the result of 2 nights quick coding over the easter weekend as a first step towards undisclosed future
enhancements to the LFS main graphics engine.... and no, no further comments or promises on that either

hehe,
Anyway, coole sache
noch mehr Grafikverbesserungen können nie schaden.

Alex Evans hat Folgendes geschrieben |
hopefully the lfs engine will be brought up to date to make use of some of the dx9+ features, but mainly so scawen can realise some mad new gameplay features he's got planned. I think it will always be very recognizable as "LFS" - unless eric feels like repainting all the textures heh no need of course - just that the realism of the engine will be increased, without sacrificing its existing visual style.
luckily I dont think it will ever go in for super over flashy arcade look, however, I can promise that LFS will easily compete with (and beat) the latest and future games in terms of graphics 'buzzwords' etc, once the next rev engine is out (no time set - S2.x hopefully). but we'll use the buzzword techniques for game-play enhancing rather than just covering the screen in ugly purple lens flares....
apart from small tweaks with HVS and haze, the core lfs engine hasn't changed since a few months before 0.1A beta or whatever the first public one was, came out. it really shows that in the end, it's not just the engine that matters, it's what the artist does with it.... and I can't wait to see what mr bailey does with the dx9 stuff once it comes....
